VRTL Space has extensive experience and proven processes in place when it comes to achieving ATOs on the AWS Platform – providing solutions for clients in pursuit of compliance authorization.

Cloud to cloud (C2C) migrationsCompliance Solutions for AWS Cloud Services

VRTL Space specializes in FedRAMP compliance for applications and services on the AWS platform. Our experienced cloud and security architects guide organizations through the FedRAMP ATO process and work closely with the authorizing entity to ensure all compliance requirements are met. Once an ATO is granted, we continue working closely with organizations to ensure ongoing monitoring and reporting processes are in place to maintain compliance.

A FedRAMP ATO (Authority to Operate) is a certification process that ensures cloud services used by the federal government meet certain security and compliance standards. It is designed to provide a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.

AWS FedRAMP Compliance

AWS is a cloud service provider (CSP) that hosts cloud service offerings (CSOs). As a CSP, Amazon Web Services is issued a Provisional Authority to Operate (PATO). CSOs hosted on AWS must still procure full agency authorization by following the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to get their own ATO. ATOs are only issued as part of the RMF process and they are issued by Federal Agencies or DoD Authorizing Officers (AOs).

As a third-party assessment organization (3PAO), VRTL Space performs initial and periodic assessments on your behalf, based on federal security requirements.
